Anne Coletta

A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Anne Coletta spent time in the summers in Flat Rock, where her family has had a long association.

After graduating from Davidson College with a B.A. in history, she moved to Washington, D.C., and after graduate work in Film & Video at The American University, worked for over 12 years in video production for several production/cable companies, including C-SPAN. With a move to southern California in 1994 for her husband’s job and the birth of her son, she began working from home as a freelance technical writer for software/technology companies, including Qualcomm and Intuit.

Every summer, she would come to Flat Rock to visit family, so when her husband, Paul, decided to retire in 2010, they chose to move back to the east coast and settle here. Anne currently continues her work as a technical writer. 

Anne’s work with the Village of Flat Rock includes a previous term as council member (2013-2017), serving on the Comprehensive Land Use Plan Committee and representing Flat Rock on the Henderson County Green River/Tuxedo/Zirconia Community Plan Advisory Committee. She has also been a major fundraiser for The Park at Flat Rock, working with her family to raise funds for the Maybank-Rhett Nature Center.

She is on the board of the Ladies Aid Society of Flat Rock and the Cultural Landscape Group:Flat Rock, and is a member of Historic Flat Rock, Inc. and The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of South Carolina. Her family attends St. Edmund Campion Catholic Church.

Anne has been married to Paul for 33 years, and she has a stepdaughter Nikki who lives in northern Virginia and a son John who lives in New York.
