Roger Bass

Originally from Florida, Roger Bass has been a year-round Flat Rock resident since 2009 after buying a house here in 2003. He has a Bachelors degree and served in both the United States Army and the United States Coast Guard Reserve. Retired from self employment, he worked as a marine surveyor inspecting boats.

While living in Florida, Roger helped start the nonprofit St. Johns Riverkeeper organization, which is dedicated to maintaining a healthy ecosystem in the St. Johns watershed, and was board chair for the group’s first six years. His commitment to the environment has benefitted The Park at Flat Rock where Roger was the first beekeeper and leads various programs at the Park as well as having served as a member of the Village’s Park Commission. He has authored “The Way of the Guide at King Creek,” which explores how you can discover and experience personal restoration through nature.

Roger and his wife Pam have been married for 53 years. They have a son, Eric, who also lives in Flat Rock.
